The holiday is for 5 days, 4 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast, at a cost of £354 pp
which includes three excursions and driver’s gratuity. Holiday insurance is not included,
but can be obtained for £10p.p. Deposit of £30 pp (plus £10p.p.insurance, if required)
payable by 15th October 2008. Balance required by 18th February 2009.

HOLIDAY – THE WELSH EXPERIENCE - LLANDRINDOD WELLS
SATURDAY 5th SEPTEMBER - 12th SEPTEMBER 2009
The holiday is for 8 days, 7 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast, staying at the Glen
Usk Hotel, Llandrindod Wells. at a cost of £437 pp - which includes insurance, gratuities
and cancellation insurance. A deposit of £35 pp (non-returnable) is required
by 21st January 2009 and the balance required by 17th June 2009.
n.b. There may be a surcharge payable if present costs escalate by more than 2%,
but this will be advised at a later date
There are 10 singles, 5 doubles and 10 twins available and we are taking bookings
for this holiday at the present time.
RYE & THE ROMNEY MARSH
THURSDAY 14th MAY 2009
The coach will depart from Upminster (times to be announced) on our way to the historic Romney Marshes and after a coffee break at Tenterden we will tour through the Kent countryside. We will stop for a Fish & Chips lunch (included) at the famous Pilot Inn at Dungeness and then proceed for a pleasant drive, via Camber Sands, to Rye. Our guide will highlight points of interest. After a refreshing cup of tea we hope to be heading home at 4.45 p.m. This is an easy walking day.

SUFFOLK SKIES & HELMINGHAM GARDENS
WEDNESDAY 8th JULY 2009
The coach will depart from Upminster (times tba.) in time to meet our guide at 10.30 a.m. in Woodbridge. After a coffee break, we will have a entertaining tour of the lovely Suffolk countryside before arriving at Framlingham, which is a great place for lunch (not included)
In the afternoon we visit Helmingham Hall, with its beautiful park, red deer,moated Hall and famous gardens, which combines to give an extraordinary impression of beauty and tranquility. Home made cream teas are sold in the Old Coach House, to which we will retire before heading home at 4.45 p.m.

THE MEDWAY MOSAIC
THURSDAY 1st OCTOBER 2009
After departing by coach from Upminster (times tba.) we join our guide in Cobham
in Kent at 10.30 a.m., where we will stop for a coffee break. We will then proceed
through the Kent’s attractive countryside, with our guide pointing out the many places
of interest, before arriving in Rochester, where we will have a long lunch break
(lunch not included) allowing ample time to visit the castle and cathedral . In the
afternoon, we continue along the Medway to Aylesford and visit the Carmelites Friary.
Cream tea (included) will be served in the 17th century barn and we hope to head
for home at 4.30 p.m.
This is a gentle day encompassing a wide range of interests and easy walking.

CHRISTMAS PAST & PRESENT, LIGHTS & CRUISE
THURSDAY 3rd DECEMBER 2009
We begin at the Geffrye Museum at Noon after our coach drive from Upminster (pickup times tba). At the Museum we will tour the recreated living rooms from Tudor times to the present day and each room will be dressed with Christmas decorations appropriate to the period . At 1.15 p.m. We will enjoy a Victorian two-course Christmas Lunch (included) and at 2.15 p.m. we meet our guide to see the best of the Christmas London lights and sights, also visit Somerset House Ice Rink. At 5.30 p.m. we embark from Waterloo Pier for a cruise down the Thames to the O2 and hope to be heading for home about 7.15 p.m.

JOHN RUTTER CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL SATURDAY 12th DECEMBER 2009
This will be the 7.30 p.m. performance and full details will be announced later.
For those who have already indicated their interest, a deposit of £10 will be collected at our April meeting .
